Surviving Human Made Environmental Disaster

I awoke this morning to the news of insane flooding in Spain. It’s close to my heart as my wife is Spanish. What’s going on here? It was only weeks ago that hurricanes ripped through the US south eastern states.
To be frank, there have always been big rains and hurricanes. But, at this scale and frequency? Should I be alarmed at what many say is related to climate change? Yes, most definitely and at the crux of this is us — the human race.
I want to think that collectively we are smart enough to commit to protecting the environment. Deep inside, I want to believe we were all doing our best to make sustainable choices with the resources and information we have. Could it be that our worst impacts were simply missteps out of ignorance? And, as a fix to our dying planet, we could do so with education and awareness.
Yet, we have been following this education dialogue for decades! One would think that we’d come together (by now)…
